KINDYS & SCHOOL PROGRAMMES

We offer discounted swimming and/or water safety lessons for larger groups in all our private, heated pools, or alternatively we can also send instructors out to your own school pool and have them teach your students there.

Our team will design a programme to meet your needs that can include:

Learn to swim lessons (at our pool or yours)
Water safety lessons that include river safety, beach safety, reach rescues and boat safety (at our pool or yours)
Water safety sessions (out & about)
Aktive Auckland Water Skill for Life Lessons
ECE Centre / Classroom water safety sessions (includes a visit from our Mascot Spike)
Free Learn to swim scholarships for schools to use at school assemblies and fundraising events

GROUP LESSONS

The standard programme includes:

Lessons for children from Year 1 to Year 8
5 x 1 hour lessons with a mixture of water safety and learn to swim. Key skills covered include: Supervision, submerging, floating, rotation, sculling, treading, swimming, lifejackets, river safety, beach safety, boat safety and reach rescues.
Ratio 1 instructor to 10 swimmers
Swimmers are shuttled from school to pool in groups of 2 classes
For Year 7 & 8 students we offer out & about sessions at moving water locations across Auckland, to allow students to practise and apply the skills they have learnt in the pool.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR SCHOOL TEACHERS

Have your own school pool and would like your teachers up-skilled to teach your school swimming/water safety programme? We can help! Our team is trained to provide professional development for school teachers on water safety and learn to swim activities.

PARTNERING WITH YOUR SCHOOL

Swimsation has delivered learn to swim programs in over 45 heated and unheated pools throughout New Zealand. In that time we have developed a quality learn to swim program, pool operating system and a wealth of knowledge on what it takes to run a successful swim school and aquatic facility.

Our successful partnership with Peninsula Primary to facility manage their pool facility through a MOE License to Occupy, is one that we would like to replicate. We have spent the past 10 years working with Peninsula Primary, and are keen to assist other schools with creating and managing their pool complexes. This would offer school students as well as the wider local community to benefit from year-round swimming lessons and water activities.
